The Epic Centre houses high-tech IT businesses

 
The mayor calls it ‘Silicon Gully’, Christchurch's own take on the valley in California that spawns many of the world's high-tech IT innovations.
Christchurch plans a much more modest high-tech innovation quarter in the new CDB, and the first building to go up there has already attracted 17 tenants.
The Epic Centre is computer game designer Wil McLellan's idea, and it came to him after he lost his own offices in the quakes.
“We all said this is an amazing opportunity to re-energise the centre of Christchurch to get young, vibrant, growing companies back in there, and if we create an environment in that centre that helps them grow, that promotes collaboration, all the better,” says Mr McLellan.
